The World’s Best Treehouse Hotels

By Tegan Reeves,

You’re an adult now, so you can do anything you want. You can eat Roll-Ups for breakfast and wear your pajamas to the supermarket. You can also sleep in these treehouse hotels. Take your pick…

Silky Oaks Lodge, Australia

Silky Oaks Lodge in Tropical North Queensland is home to arguably Australia’s best treehouses. Glass doors open out to the Daintree Rainforest, with verandas perched above the Mossman River. The treehouses aren’t just for sleeping though – the hotel restaurant and bar also sit high in the canopy.

Keemala, Thailand

Pictures of Keemala speak for themselves – these treehouses ooze luxury. The pod-shaped, ‘birds nest villas’ are perched in the rainforest canopy, overlooking Kamala Beach. Monsoon showers, outdoor terraces and private lap-pools are all part of the experience.

Treehotel, Sweden

No two rooms here are even remotely similar. Sleeping options include a giant bird’s nest, a UFO, or an ‘invisible’ mirrorcube. The standout though is ‘The Seventh Room’, with its netted patio 10 metres above ground. Eat breakfast up here among the pine trees.

Nothofagus, Chile

In southern Chile there is a treehouse that is almost too epic to describe. Less of a ‘treehouse’ and more of a ‘treehotel’, Nothofagus is so big that there’s even an indoor swimming pool and Jacuzzi. Spend the night here before hitting the nearby ski slopes.

Japamala Resort, Malaysia

This Malaysian resort is home to some of the more affordable treehouses in this list, while still maintaining an eco/luxe vibe. No two Treetop Chalets are the same, but all have balconies looking out to the South China Sea. Extras like homemade snacks and aromatherapy turndown services complete the experience.
